The history of the Festival Club
The Club Festival opened its doors in 1972 as Ibiza's first super club and attracted numerous visitors. But in 1974 the oil crisis forced tourists to stay away and the club had to close. Noise complaints from local residents prevented it from reopening. Since then, nature has begun to reclaim the area and the ruins give the place a special fascination that only gives a glimpse of the events of the past.
Revival in the 80s and 90s
Despite the decay, the ruins of the club were revived in the 80s and 90s for unofficial rave parties. DJs used the stage to set up their equipment and the dance floor filled with partygoers. Even the famous DJ Maceo Plex recorded a DJ set in this special ambience in 2016.
