The current weather on Ibiza and Formentera
Severe thunderstorms over Ibiza: planes had to circle over the sea.
On Thursday, the 6 November 2025The day began in Ibiza with severe thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind, and heavy downpours. In the early morning hours, a storm front moved across the island, accompanied by intense lightning and thunder. Due to poor visibility and a waterlogged runway, Ibiza Airport was temporarily closed, preventing landings for about an hour. Several aircraft had to circle over the sea – including one flight. SWT103The aircraft, which according to Flightradar24 circled several times east of the island until the weather stabilized, was able to resume flight operations gradually around 8:00 AM. Around that time, the bad weather front slowly moved eastward.
After a turbulent start to the day, the weather will be changeable throughout the morning. Temperatures will be around 19 degrees Celsius, and a strong westerly wind will blow at speeds between 30 and 50 kilometers per hour. Scattered showers are possible, and isolated thunderstorms cannot be completely ruled out. Humidity will be around 65 percent. The situation will calm down somewhat in the afternoon, with temperatures rising to around 20 degrees Celsius and the wind noticeably easing. The sky will clear in places during the evening, before a calm and largely dry night with temperatures around 15 degrees Celsius.
Friday, 7 November 2025This brings a significant improvement in the weather. The morning starts with temperatures around 18 degrees Celsius and a light northwesterly wind. The sun will appear more frequently, and the chance of rain will decrease considerably. In the afternoon, highs will reach around 21 degrees Celsius, the wind will remain light to moderate, and the air will be fresh and clear. Towards evening, temperatures will cool to 16 degrees Celsius, and the night will be mild and calm with temperatures around 14 degrees Celsius.
Pollen levels remain very low in Ibiza. Tree, grass, and weed pollen are barely measurable, and air quality is excellent. The atmosphere primarily contains fine sea salt particles carried by the wind. Increased levels of Saharan dust are not currently expected.
The sun rises at 07:26 a.m. and sets at 17:48 p.m. today. The Mediterranean Sea will remain pleasantly mild at around 21 to 22 degrees Celsius, although swimming is probably not advisable after the morning storm.
Currently exist no severe weather warnings More for Ibiza. The storm front left the island this morning, and the weather is gradually calming down.
The forecast for the next seven days promises mild, mostly dry late autumn weather. Daytime highs will range between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius, while nights will remain pleasant at 14 to 16 degrees. Only isolated clouds or brief showers are possible, but overall sunshine will prevail – a calm end to a stormy start to November.

Ibiza has an area of about 577 km². The island is about 34 kilometers long from north to south and about 19 kilometers wide from west to east
Despite its relatively small size, the weather in Ibiza can vary in different locations. This is due to several factors:
- topography: The island has hills and valleys that can affect the weather. Higher elevations can be cooler and windier than lower areas.
- Coastal location: Places near the sea often have a different microclimate than the interior of the island. The proximity to the water can moderate temperatures and increase humidity.
- Wind directions: Different wind directions can bring different weather conditions. For example, a wind from the sea can be cooler and wetter than a wind from the land.
Explanations of information in the weather report
*The phenomenon DANA describes an isolated cold air mass in the upper atmosphere that detaches itself from the usual currents. When this air mass encounters warmer layers, severe storms with heavy rainfall and occasional flooding often occur. This phenomenon is particularly common in the western Mediterranean regions and is known in Spain, especially in coastal areas, for its sometimes dramatic effects. A similar term that is often used synonymously is "the cold drop“ (the cold drop).
What does 50 mm of rainfall mean?
Rain is measured in millimeters (mm). 1 mm of rainfall corresponds to 1 liter of water per square meter. 50mm = 50 liters.

Flightright – When passenger rights simply work
Flight delays, cancellations, or overbookings are unfortunately not uncommon. However, many passengers are unaware that they are entitled to compensation in such cases – and even fewer know how to pursue it. This is precisely where Flight right comes into play: a pioneer among legal tech companies and market leader in the field of air passenger rights.
Specialist in EU passenger rights since 2010
Since its founding in 2010, Flightright has pursued a clear goal: to help passengers assert their rights against airlines – quickly, easily, and risk-free. The legal basis for this is the EU Air Passenger Rights Regulation 261/2004, which, among other things, provides compensation of up to 600 euros for flight problems.
How Flightright works
Using the service is incredibly simple: Affected parties enter the key details of their flight online – within a few minutes, the system automatically checks whether a claim exists. If so, Flightright handles the entire process with the airline, including all legal steps. Even court proceedings can be conducted upon request – at no additional cost to the customer.
The highlight: Payment is only made if the claim is successful. If no payout is made, there are no costs. If compensation is successful, Flightright retains a commission from the compensation amount. This model ensures maximum fairness and transparency.
Retroactive up to three years possible
Many people don’t know that even flights that took place in the past can still be compensated – usually up to three years retroactively. It is therefore worthwhile to have older cases reviewed again.
How much is the compensation?
The amount of compensation depends on the flight route:
- EUR 250 for short distances up to 1.500 km
- EUR 400 for medium-haul flights between 1.500 km and 3.500 km
- EUR 600 for long distances over 3.500 km
This usually requires an arrival delay of at least three hours – or a flight cancelled at short notice for which the airline is responsible.
Why Flightright?
What sets Flightright apart is not only its fair success model, but also its impressive success rate of around 99% in legal proceedings. With over 600 million euros in compensation payments enforced Flightright is one of the absolute pioneers in Europe.
The provider also scores points with transparent communication: The status of the case can be viewed online at any time – conveniently from the sofa or on the go via smartphone.
For all those who do not want to be left with the damage
No one should forgo their right to compensation just because the process seems complicated. With Flightright, asserting your rights is child's play – without any stress, paperwork, or legal fees. Anyone who has experienced flight trouble can now easily protect themselves and have their compensation pursued professionally.
