Last-minute cancellation: Salinas New Year's swim stopped
The traditional one New Year's swim on the beach of Las Salinas at Ibiza, which has been run by Wine & Co is organized, falls for the year 2025 As Vino&Co announced on social media, the town hall of Sant Josep No permission was given for setting up tables and serving wine. The cancellation only came on Friday night before the scheduled event, which disappointed many fans of the event.
Nevertheless, the hope remains for a Comeback: The organizers would like to find a solution with more lead time next year together with the town hall and the coastal authority to continue the tradition in 2026.
Despite the cancellation, everyone who wants to start the year with a dip in the Mediterranean can still meet individually. Those who bring their own food and do not leave any rubbish behind are welcome to enjoy the salt pans and their natural beauty.
A beloved tradition
The New Year’s swim, known as “The First Bath of the Year“, has been a highlight for locals and visitors for over a decade. Started by Wine & Co as a small meeting of friends, it recently attracted more than 1.000 participants. The day traditionally begins at 12:00 noon with the first jump into the sea, which is around 17 degrees Celsius, followed by further swimming times at 13:00 p.m. and 14:00 p.m. The particularly brave take part in all three rounds.
For many participants, this is New Year's swim not only a refreshing start to the new year, but also an opportunity to get together with friends and family on the beach. Spectators who prefer to stay on land enjoy the exuberant atmosphere and wait for the bathers with warm terry towels.
party and environmental awareness
In addition to swimming, the subsequent beach party is an essential part of the event. Wine & Co has set up tables, offered wine and sparkling wine and invited everyone to bring food to share. A conscious approach to nature was always part of the concept: plastic was avoided and a beach cleanup followed the festival.
future of the event
Wine & Co regrets the cancellation 2025 very much, but emphasizes that the authorities' decision must be respected. At the same time, the team thanks all supporters and participants and wishes them a happy new year and a successful start to 2025.
We are confident that we will be able to make the event 2026 to take place again in the usual way – and thus one of the most popular New Year traditions on Ibiza to continue.

Flightright – When passenger rights simply work
Flight delays, cancellations, or overbookings are unfortunately not uncommon. However, many passengers are unaware that they are entitled to compensation in such cases – and even fewer know how to pursue it. This is precisely where Flight right comes into play: a pioneer among legal tech companies and market leader in the field of air passenger rights.
Specialist in EU passenger rights since 2010
Since its founding in 2010, Flightright has pursued a clear goal: to help passengers assert their rights against airlines – quickly, easily, and risk-free. The legal basis for this is the EU Air Passenger Rights Regulation 261/2004, which, among other things, provides compensation of up to 600 euros for flight problems.
How Flightright works
Using the service is incredibly simple: Affected parties enter the key details of their flight online – within a few minutes, the system automatically checks whether a claim exists. If so, Flightright handles the entire process with the airline, including all legal steps. Even court proceedings can be conducted upon request – at no additional cost to the customer.
The highlight: Payment is only made if the claim is successful. If no payout is made, there are no costs. If compensation is successful, Flightright retains a commission from the compensation amount. This model ensures maximum fairness and transparency.
Retroactive up to three years possible
Many people don’t know that even flights that took place in the past can still be compensated – usually up to three years retroactively. It is therefore worthwhile to have older cases reviewed again.
How much is the compensation?
The amount of compensation depends on the flight route:
- EUR 250 for short distances up to 1.500 km
- EUR 400 for medium-haul flights between 1.500 km and 3.500 km
- EUR 600 for long distances over 3.500 km
This usually requires an arrival delay of at least three hours – or a flight cancelled at short notice for which the airline is responsible.
Why Flightright?
What sets Flightright apart is not only its fair success model, but also its impressive success rate of around 99% in legal proceedings. With over 600 million euros in compensation payments enforced Flightright is one of the absolute pioneers in Europe.
The provider also scores points with transparent communication: The status of the case can be viewed online at any time – conveniently from the sofa or on the go via smartphone.
For all those who do not want to be left with the damage
No one should forgo their right to compensation just because the process seems complicated. With Flightright, asserting your rights is child's play – without any stress, paperwork, or legal fees. Anyone who has experienced flight trouble can now easily protect themselves and have their compensation pursued professionally.
