Santa Eulària des Riu, also known as Santa Eulalia del Río, is a charming town on the east coast of the island of Ibiza. With a population of about 40.548 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2022) and an area of 153,58 km² it offers a relaxed and culturally rich atmosphere.
The city is known for its beautiful beach promenade, which stretches along the sea and is lined with palm trees. Here you will find numerous cafes, restaurants and boutiques that invite you to stroll and linger. The Marina Marina Santa Eulalia is another attraction where many yachts are anchored and you can enjoy the maritime flair.
A cultural highlight is the Puig de Missa, a hilltop church dating from the 16. century. It not only offers an impressive view of the city, but also insights into the history and architecture of the region. In addition, there are Santa Eulalia many shops and cultural events that take place throughout the year.
The surroundings of Santa Eulalia is characterized by picturesque beaches and bays that are ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Hiking and cycling trails through the hilly landscape also offer nature lovers many opportunities to explore the beauty of Ibiza.
Santa Eulalia is named after the only river in the Balearic Islands, which flows through the town and was historically important for irrigation and the operation of mills. This river, the Riu de Santa Eulària, is a significant feature of the town and contributes to its unique character.
