• On Thursday, September 11, 2025, two Ryanair planes almost collided at Ibiza Airport. The flight FR8147 to Málaga was already ready for takeoff when the flight FR8800 from Milan was preparing to land. Because the pilot of FR8800 temporarily lost radio contact, a dangerous situation arose. The landing was aborted, the aircraft climbed back up, while the tower stopped the takeoff of FR8147. According to flight control, all safety protocols were correctly implemented – no one was injured.
● Several cases of measles have recently occurred in Ibiza — both in children and adults — and the health authorities have subsequently Health warning Doctors attribute the resurgence to, among other things, more families refusing vaccinations and the rise of misinformation on social media. Immunity in the population has been strong so far, but this protection is being threatened by vaccine hesitancy and declining vaccination rates. Measles is not harmless: About 1 in 100 cases can develop into life-threatening illnesses such as meningitis. Anyone who is not fully vaccinated or is unsure of their vaccination status should urgently seek medical advice.

• Vicent Marí, President of the Ibiza Council, is demanding that new housing on the island be given priority for residents in the future. According to his proposal, people who have lived on Ibiza for at least five years should be given priority in housing projects. Marí emphasizes that the population is growing rapidly, while living space and water resources are limited. Therefore, private housing construction should not continue to be a priority as long as there is not enough affordable housing and suitable infrastructure. The sharp increase in rental and purchase prices has already pushed many locals out of the market.
• The "Cueva de la Luz" near Sant Josep continues to attract influencers and adventurers – despite its dangerous reputation. YouTube creator Gerard Núñez recently published a video describing the route to the cave: steep paths, risky passages, and a moment where a misstep could be life-threatening. Inside the cave, a beam of light spectacularly illuminates the water, and visitors jump from rocks into the sea – actions that have repeatedly resulted in death or necessitated rescue operations. Authorities regularly warn of the difficult access and describe the infrastructure and safety as inadequate. Despite all this, the natural monument maintains a strong appeal on social media, further fueled by viral videos.
● The German extreme swimmer Nathalie Pohl wants to swim around the island of Ibiza together with her colleague Andy Donaldson circle aroundThe plan is for the two men to cover a distance of over 110 kilometers as a relay, with two-hour water breaks. Depending on weather conditions, the attempt is scheduled to start between September 29 and October 6 and last more than 30 hours. It would be the first officially recognized world record of its kind, as no one has ever swum completely around the Balearic island before. Pohl was already the first German woman to successfully complete the "Ocean's Seven" – the world's seven most important straits.
• It will remain warm, late summer weather on Ibiza and Formentera until Sunday, but the Aemet forecasts a change in the weather starting Sunday evening. With the official start of autumn on Monday, temperatures will drop by about six degrees. Starting Sunday, the probability of rain will rise to 45%, and on Monday even up to 65%, with occasional thunderstorms. Highs of around 30 degrees and lows of around 20 degrees are forecast for the weekend. This will mark the end of the current heatwave and the arrival of autumn in the Pitiusas.
● Solomun celebrated the tenth anniversary of its free party “Solomun at the Port" in the port of Ibiza. Thousands of visitors—from clubbers to families to long-time residents—flocked to the open-air stage and experienced the magic of the star DJ for over four hours. The event was launched in 2014 to give something back to the community and strengthen the local economy. What once began with around 5.000 guests has since doubled in size and is now considered a cultural landmark on the island. Supported by Pacha Ibiza, residents, traders, and the city, the event unites music, inclusion, freedom, and community. To the → Photos.

Flightright – When passenger rights simply work
Flight delays, cancellations, or overbookings are unfortunately not uncommon. However, many passengers are unaware that they are entitled to compensation in such cases – and even fewer know how to pursue it. This is precisely where Flight right comes into play: a pioneer among legal tech companies and market leader in the field of air passenger rights.
Specialist in EU passenger rights since 2010
Since its founding in 2010, Flightright has pursued a clear goal: to help passengers assert their rights against airlines – quickly, easily, and risk-free. The legal basis for this is the EU Air Passenger Rights Regulation 261/2004, which, among other things, provides compensation of up to 600 euros for flight problems.
How Flightright works
Using the service is incredibly simple: Affected parties enter the key details of their flight online – within a few minutes, the system automatically checks whether a claim exists. If so, Flightright handles the entire process with the airline, including all legal steps. Even court proceedings can be conducted upon request – at no additional cost to the customer.
The highlight: Payment is only made if the claim is successful. If no payout is made, there are no costs. If compensation is successful, Flightright retains a commission from the compensation amount. This model ensures maximum fairness and transparency.
Retroactive up to three years possible
Many people don’t know that even flights that took place in the past can still be compensated – usually up to three years retroactively. It is therefore worthwhile to have older cases reviewed again.
How much is the compensation?
The amount of compensation depends on the flight route:
- EUR 250 for short distances up to 1.500 km
- EUR 400 for medium-haul flights between 1.500 km and 3.500 km
- EUR 600 for long distances over 3.500 km
This usually requires an arrival delay of at least three hours – or a flight cancelled at short notice for which the airline is responsible.
Why Flightright?
What sets Flightright apart is not only its fair success model, but also its impressive success rate of around 99% in legal proceedings. With over 600 million euros in compensation payments enforced Flightright is one of the absolute pioneers in Europe.
The provider also scores points with transparent communication: The status of the case can be viewed online at any time – conveniently from the sofa or on the go via smartphone.
For all those who do not want to be left with the damage
No one should forgo their right to compensation just because the process seems complicated. With Flightright, asserting your rights is child's play – without any stress, paperwork, or legal fees. Anyone who has experienced flight trouble can now easily protect themselves and have their compensation pursued professionally.
