● The property market in Ibiza remains one of the most expensive in Spain – especially the municipality Santa Eulària sets new standards with a price per square meter of EUR 8.718, while a home costs on average around EUR 812.000 This is followed by the capital municipality of Ibiza with 7.259 euros, Sant Josep with 7.162 euros, Sant Antoni with 6.544 euros, and San Joan with 5.514 euros per square meter of new construction. These figures clearly demonstrate how unaffordable the purchase of residential property on the island has become for many. The market for existing properties is somewhat more favorable: Notary data show a price increase of 2025 percent to 4.051 euros per square meterThis means that the Balearic Islands remain clearly at the top of Spain's list – both in terms of demand and prices.

• In the Talamanca housing estate, there is unrest over the opening of a center for unaccompanied minors in a luxury villa. Officially, only seven people are allowed to live there, but currently, there are eight young people plus two caregivers. Residents criticize the fact that locals often live in precarious conditions, while the minors are housed with a pool and garden. The Consell states that no other accommodation has been found and that it is complying with all regulations. Possible alternatives to defuse the conflict are now being discussed.
● Next Saturday August 30nd, at 20 pm Sant Antoni invites you to a free “Brisa Flamenca” festival to the Sa Punta des Molí cultural center. The artists Javi Medina, Queralt Lahoz and Miguelichi López promise a successful blend of tradition and modernity – accompanied by the authentic flair of Ibiza in an atmospheric open-air setting. The festival, highlighted by cultural director Adrián Rodríguez, combines classic flamenco elements with contemporary interpretations. As a free highlight of the local cultural scene, the event offers a fantastic finale for music fans. The seafront venue makes the experience a special Mallorca moment on Ibiza.
● The cult party La Movida celebrated its 20th anniversary this weekend on the beach at s'Arenal in Sant Antoni. DJs Petit & Vázquez played hits from the 80s and 90s, creating a lively atmosphere. The celebration was complemented by live saxophone, acrobatics, and show performances from performance groups. A charity stand from the Elena Torres Foundation raised funds for cancer research. With this mix, the Festes de Sant Bartomeu ended on a particularly emotional note for many visitors.
• Two British women were critically injured yesterday in a serious accident on the road between Ibiza and Sant Antoni. Their car collided with another vehicle at kilometer 12,8 in the early morning hours. Emergency services took both to hospital in critical condition. A breathalyzer test on the driver involved returned a negative result. The incident has intensified the debate about road safety on the island's busy roads.
• A Catalan couple is suing following alleged real estate fraud in Punta Pedrera. They paid an advance of €2020 in 150.000 for a terraced house that is now back on the market for over €XNUMX million. The transaction was handled by Solvia, a Banco Sabadell sales company. After the agent disappeared, they received no further response. Together with other victims, they have now initiated legal action.
• Ibiza and Formentera achieved the highest hotel profitability in Spain in July. Revenue per available room was €221, an increase of 5,5 percent over the previous year. The average daily rate was €256, and in luxury hotels, even €431. This puts the Pitiusas once again clearly at the top of all holiday regions. Experts see this as a sign of strong demand, while locals complain about continuing price increases.
• Three small forest fires broke out on Formentera within just three days. However, thanks to the rapid response of all emergency services, these were brought under control in time. The most dangerous fire was the one on August 24 in Mola, which destroyed 0,052 hectares of pine forest before the blaze could be contained. Shortly after, two more fires broke out in Ses Bardetes and near the Sant Ferran petrol station. While the population is alerted, the Consell highlights the 24-hour basic presence of at least three firefighters, as well as the support of Ibanat, the police, and the civil protection agency. With additional vehicles, firefighting equipment, and possible air support from Ibiza and Mallorca, Formentera remains on constant alert against the risk of further fires.
• The heavy rain in Catalonia and Mallorca is causing a wave of flight disruptions today, including Ibiza. In Barcelona, the 15:45 p.m. flight to Ibiza was canceled entirely, while in Palma, a flight scheduled to depart at 16:30 p.m. didn't take off until 17:13 p.m. At Ibiza Airport itself, the 15:15 p.m. and 17:30 p.m. departures to Barcelona were canceled; the 16:15 p.m. flight departed slightly late at 16:29 p.m. Other flights operated as scheduled, but many passengers had to accept last-minute changes. The airports advise all travelers to monitor the information carefully and allow sufficient time for their journey.

Flightright – When passenger rights simply work
Flight delays, cancellations, or overbookings are unfortunately not uncommon. However, many passengers are unaware that they are entitled to compensation in such cases – and even fewer know how to pursue it. This is precisely where Flight right comes into play: a pioneer among legal tech companies and market leader in the field of air passenger rights.
Specialist in EU passenger rights since 2010
Since its founding in 2010, Flightright has pursued a clear goal: to help passengers assert their rights against airlines – quickly, easily, and risk-free. The legal basis for this is the EU Air Passenger Rights Regulation 261/2004, which, among other things, provides compensation of up to 600 euros for flight problems.
How Flightright works
Using the service is incredibly simple: Affected parties enter the key details of their flight online – within a few minutes, the system automatically checks whether a claim exists. If so, Flightright handles the entire process with the airline, including all legal steps. Even court proceedings can be conducted upon request – at no additional cost to the customer.
The highlight: Payment is only made if the claim is successful. If no payout is made, there are no costs. If compensation is successful, Flightright retains a commission from the compensation amount. This model ensures maximum fairness and transparency.
Retroactive up to three years possible
Many people don’t know that even flights that took place in the past can still be compensated – usually up to three years retroactively. It is therefore worthwhile to have older cases reviewed again.
How much is the compensation?
The amount of compensation depends on the flight route:
- EUR 250 for short distances up to 1.500 km
- EUR 400 for medium-haul flights between 1.500 km and 3.500 km
- EUR 600 for long distances over 3.500 km
This usually requires an arrival delay of at least three hours – or a flight cancelled at short notice for which the airline is responsible.
Why Flightright?
What sets Flightright apart is not only its fair success model, but also its impressive success rate of around 99% in legal proceedings. With over 600 million euros in compensation payments enforced Flightright is one of the absolute pioneers in Europe.
The provider also scores points with transparent communication: The status of the case can be viewed online at any time – conveniently from the sofa or on the go via smartphone.
For all those who do not want to be left with the damage
No one should forgo their right to compensation just because the process seems complicated. With Flightright, asserting your rights is child's play – without any stress, paperwork, or legal fees. Anyone who has experienced flight trouble can now easily protect themselves and have their compensation pursued professionally.
