The Balearic Islands are saying goodbye to one of the hottest summers in decades: According to Aemet, the summer of 2025 was the third warmest summer since 1961Ibiza and Mallorca were particularly hard hit, each experiencing at least one heatwave, and the nights remained unusually warm ("tropical nights"). June reached record temperatures, according to measurements, significantly above average. Rainfall was generally normal in the Balearic Islands, but drier than usual in the Pitiusas. September continues the string of exceptionally warm and dry days so far.
• An attempted kidnapping occurred this morning in Ibiza Town. Several perpetrators got out of two vehicles – including a black pickup truck and a car with Italian license plates – and attempted to force an Italian man into a car. The victim managed to free himself, suffered cuts to his face and body, and fled. Eyewitnesses alerted the police and emergency services, and a license plate number was also noted. Investigators believe this was a targeted kidnapping attempt; the motive is still unclear.
● On September 28, 2025 The second edition of the Ibiza Fashion Show The Ibiza Fashion Show takes place at the Baluard de Sant Pere in Dalt Vila and brings fashion, art, and culture together. Organized by photographer Marta Rojo, models from Miss Baleares will perform, and the Colla Pagesa de Buscastell will provide traditional dance performances. Collections from designers and labels such as Morado, Beau_Hats, Origens Pomar, Ñandutí, Brioni.Swin, Johnny Mesq, Natalia Vera, and Delphine Temples will be presented. There will also be an art market with around 15 local artisans and a charity bar, the proceeds of which will benefit social projects. The Ibiza Fashion Show thus cements its reputation as a cultural highlight of the island, combining international trends with local tradition.
● The Beer & Gastro Fair de Ibiza 2025 concluded yesterday after two successful days of the fair. Numerous visitors enjoyed the colorful mix of culinary highlights, traditional cuisine, and creative street food ideas. More than 200 types of beer provided variety and turned the fair into a paradise for connoisseurs. A broad musical program was also offered – from DJ sets to atmospheric live acts. In addition to the culinary experience, solidarity was also a focus, for example with the benefit offer for the Asociación Elena Torres. • This year, Ibiza's accident statistics are worrying: By mid-September 2025, there were already 34 deaths on the Pitiusas' roads, more than in all of 2024. Motorcyclists and pedestrians are particularly affected – they account for 85% of traffic accidents. Officials emphasize that these figures underscore the urgency of improving infrastructure, clearer traffic regulations, and increased prevention measures. Road sections with poor conditions or blind curves continue to be considered particularly dangerous.
