In Santa Eulària, the problem of illegal squatting continues to grow. Mayor Carmen Ferrer confirmed that it has become a serious security and social problem, especially in certain areas. Since the beginning of the year, Local Police in 14 cases intervened together with the Guardia Civil and the courts, mostly to support sensitive operations. While the municipality handles social hardship cases through the social welfare office, Ferrer points to a significant increase in criminal occupations – especially in the area “Rancho” in Punta Arabíwhere drug trafficking and other illegal activities are suspected. The goal is to support those in need, but at the same time to take decisive action against organized occupiers.
● In the port of La Marina Ibiza A luxury yacht caught fire early Sunday morning. The approximately 15 meter long boat “Bad Girl” from the Pershing 5X series, with an estimated market value of up to half a million euros, initially caught fire, was extinguished and burned again shortly afterwards. A dense black cloud of smoke rose above the harbor and was visible from afar. Passersby watched the fire with concern, while neighboring boats left their berths as a precaution. Houses were not affected, and the fire brigade was on duty for hours to extinguish the fire for the second time within a few hours to delete completely – the cause is still unclear. 📷→ Gallery.
